- One of these things is not like the others...
Have you ever been the “thing not like the others” or the one who doesn’t belong? That was my experience this weekend while visiting friends and family at Copper Mountain, CO. When your entire social circle is people living a life putting them in the top percentages of health you forget how your life differs from social norms. Remember, being healthy is normal but being unhealthy is the norm.

- You Can't Make Chicken Salad Out of Chicken $#%@
-
As my college wrestling coach use to say, “You can’t make chicken salad out of chicken #$%#.” He used this expression when talking about someone’s potential. He preferred a hard worker to pure talent. He often says he doesn’t recruit state champions; he recruits the runner-up, who has potential but is still hungry.

To get my patients to go from "What do I have an how do I treat it?" to "What caused this and what do I need to do differently?".

- The Healing Equation
Have you ever taken the time to ponder what is actually required for you body to heal? There is a confusion I see on a daily basis with most of our new patients. Most people have been trained throughout their lives to ask the wrong questions regarding their health, most people have been trained to ask what's wrong with me and what drug do I need to take or what procedure do I need to do?

- The H1N1 Issue: Flu Pandemic, Fear Pandemic, or Both?
The H1N1 issue has become so prevalent that I thought it appropriate to share some factual perspective. I realize that factual perspective is neither newsworthy nor popular when people are in the midst of a mob mentality of fear but I'm willing to risk unpopularity in order to encourage people to be guided by science, reason, and logic.
