Back and Extremity Pain
My back problems started in 2000 when I was taking care of my sister who was an amputee and weakened by Multiple Sclerosis. I endured many months of pain and leg numbness before seeking help from my family physician, who prescribed pain killers and referred me to a surgeon. Although I recovered quickly from surgery for a herniated disc and the pain was much improved, I continued to take an average of nine ibuprofen daily to deal with the residual pain. A torn meniscus and subsequent knee surgery in 2006 exacerbated my back pain. Back and knee pain prevented me from participating, along with my family, in the last three Bolder Boulder citizen races. I was no longer able to hike with my husband and even dancing at my daughter’s wedding last fall caused me excruciating pain.
I decided to give chiropractic a try after I met Dr. Chris at a screening, hoping it would relieve my back problem. The first few appointments were rough, but after two weeks (six appointments) I noticed a big improvement. The surprising part for e was that I noticed not only an improvement in my back, but also in my knee. After one month of chiropractic treatment, I only take ibuprofen before bed and expect that after a few more weeks, I won’t need it at all.
I would not hesitate to recommend chiropractic care to anyone who is experiencing physical problems similar to mine. I just wish that I had sought help from chiropractic initially. I may have been able to avoid one or both surgeries! Luckily, I am on the road to recovery now. And this summer, I’ll be on the road with my husband, headed for a hiking trail.
Sincerely,

Chronic Pain
April 20, 2009
It has been at least three months since I decided to pursue chiropractic treatment with Dr. Gubbels. Without going into specific details, I can only say it has been the best decision I could have made to take care of my chronic pain and impaired mobility. I was convinced that this was getting older symptoms and irreversible.
Wrong! After three months I have minimal discomfort and almost full range of motion in my neck. I can walk stairs and just realized I can bend instead of stooping to pick up objects from the floor without pain.
I continue and will continue to invest in and trust the care I receive from Dr. Gubbels. Thank you Dr. Gubbels. Thank you to the support staff for the patience and persistence of scheduling.

Drug Addiction
I am a chiropractor and I am a director for one of the largest drug and alcohol rehab programs in Colorado. Due to the proliferation of drug abuse in our country almost every person is familiar with the viciousness of the trap that is addiction. What many people don’t know is that drug addiction does not strictly follow from the illegal drug route, many addicts start on the road to addiction because they are prescribed pain medication for conditions like back and neck pain—herniated discs and subluxations which could otherwise very easily be cured with chiropractic treatment. I have spoken with many former addicts who started out with Percocet or the now infamous Oxycontin and, after either the drug becomes too expensive or the doctor will no longer prescribe it, the patient switches to the easily accessible street version of these drugs: heroin. I see these people in our facility—their bodies riddled with the ravages of these drugs, their families and very lives destroyed and whether the addiction began as a prescribed route or started illicitly, the outcome is the same: the person is painfully addicted, their life is shattered, a mere shadow of its formerly dynamic existence.
How could it have been different? Had these people who lost years of their lives and contributed so much pain and betrayal to their families started with chiropractic care, they would not have been put on addictive narcotics and instead of a cinder, they would have become pain free. Because rarely is the patient’s real problem “a deficiency of narcotics” I recommend chiropractic, not only can it make you feel great, but one does not risk the grave problem that Rush Limbaugh and millions of others have faced; addiction.

Menstrual and Sleep Problems
March 2009
Before receiving chiropractic care in September 2008, I hadn’t slept in months, my menstrual cycle wasn’t synchronized (cycle every 17-21 days, cramping, lower back pain and breast tenderness TWO weeks out of the month), I had headaches, tightness in my neck and shoulders, mental fogginess, ribs that were out, spasms in my lower back, digestive issues and just an overall unmotivated numbness. After only a couple of weeks of chiropractic care my headaches weren’t as frequent and I was sleeping! After a few months of care my menstrual cycle started regulating and my cramping and lower back pain decreased and the best part - absolutely no breast tenderness (I am still in awe and so thankful for this)! My lower back spasms have decreased dramatically while my energy levels have increased; I no longer have headaches and my digestive issues continue to improve!
If you are experiencing a myriad of frequent ailments you owe it to yourself and your family to seek the proper chiropractic care to help your body and spirit heal. Dr. Gubbels is passionate about his patients’ health; he is extremely knowledgeable and takes pride in his vocation. Seeing as you are reading this you are already seeking a healthier lifestyle; therefore I encourage you to visit with Dr. Gubbels and Laura - they are great examples of the true meaning of chiropractic care. We are meant to live life with vitality; I will passionately continue my journey to a healthier more vibrant lifestyle with chiropractic care as a regular part of my routine. Thanks Dr. Gubbels and Laura for your genuine care and guidance.

Full Body Tension
April 10, 2009
Before I began my path to wellness with Dr. Gubbels I always felt a sense of pending doom at age 24. My friends always wanted me to go camping, hiking, running and honestly I had to pass up so many good times because if I went I would complain and suffer in agonizing pain. It was so depressing. I was athletic as a teen and frequently injured myself, I was in two auto accidents that left my neck and back in horrible condition. I couldn’t sleep through the night, I couldn’t turn from left to right all the way and my lower back felt like if I picked up anything over 30 pounds I was going to snap my body in half. I knew I was not fixable, this was my life and nobody was going to be able to help. Chiropractors couldn’t help, doctors pumped me full of muscle relaxers and pain killers only temporarily helping. I saw Dr. Gubbels at a presentation he gave at work. I like what he had to say and decided to give it one more try. What did I have to lose? Now I walk taller, bend and flex with ease, sleep through the night and have never felt better. Being on the path to wellness truly is a miracle. I am forever grateful to Gubbels Chiropractic & Wellness Center.

Low Back and Hip Pain
March 1, 2009
I’m now into my third week of treatment and I never thought I was supposed to feel this good!
I have experienced a lot of pain in my lower back and hips for years. What caused me to seek treatment was while on vacation at Disney World I ended up in a wheel chair because I was in too much pain to walk. My older husband an older sister in law could out walk me!
While figuring out my options for treatment I decided against a regular doctor because I knew he would treat the symptoms not the problem. I happened upon Dr. Gubbels through a referral by a co-worker and figured it couldn’t hurt. Thank God!
I have regained most of the movement of my hips and I can pick things up off the floor. I haven't been able to do that in years! I am finally able to walk a lot longer with very little pain and I’m finally able to slowly lose weight!
